Stephan Kurzawski, Senior Vice President Consumer Goods & Sales of Messe Frankfurt, visited the last edition of Automechanika Buenos Aires, the leading event for the spare parts industry that was held from October the 11th to the 14th in La Rural Trade Center. In that frame, he dialogued with the local media and offered some perspective in the global business situation.

The German Executive pointed out that considering Argentina’s enormous potential, in the next years its capital city could become “The new Frankfurt”, an attractive business center that attracts investors. He also highlighted the local resilience, an extraordinary ability to make businesses in difficult times.

In his own words, “Argentina has a strategic position in the mining, automotive, oil & gas industry that is a strong advantage in the matter of trade-fair tourism”. Specifically, he was convinced that the automotive and spare parts industry is in a strong period in the country and its competitive worldwide.

With that in mind, he shared three important tips to grow the trade-fair tourism. The first key is to create bounds between the private and public sector. Secondly, the city has to be recognized by its infrastructure: though Buenos Aires has beautiful hotels and a remarkable transportation system, it needs more trade centers. Finally, trade fairs are all about connections. That’s why it is crucial to generate new connections between the whole regions.

Last but not least, Stephan Kurzawski pointed out the beautiful aspects that Buenos Aires has to offer, such as art & music districts, beautiful shores, great gastronomical options and a warm, friendly weather.

As for Automechanika Buenos Aires, the exhibition was a complete success, where exhibitors and visitors could meet again to make business, learn more about the industry and share new ideas and developments. In words of Messe Frankfurt Argentina’s CEO: “There is nothing more beautiful than seeing each other again and keep making connections”.
